Stewards and branch officers are volunteers and play a vital role in recruiting new members and organising your branch.
Every workplace
should have a contact or steward.
-
A contact is not an onerous
job - mainly passing on information to colleagues. They do not however represent members. more.....
-
The role
of the steward can be very rewarding for individuals. As well as
offering support to colleagues, the personal advantages can be
significant in terms of training, confidence building and providing
variety from the usual work routine. We would be delighted if some people would volunteer to act as stewards, who have a more responsible role, but who are entitled to time off work to carry out their duties and who receive full training. more.....
There are also other ways that you can join in:
Contact
the branch office in Elgin or the UNISON
Resource Centre in Aberdeen if you would like more information.
