Madam,

In your columns last week, questions raised by Moray Unison, the EIS and other bodies with regards to the PPP project in Moray schools were described as ‘scare-mongering and mischief-making’.

The language used seems very regrettable, particularly if it indicates a style which looks on any attempt to air the issues involved as unacceptable.

The implication that issues are raised simply to create trouble for its own sake is insulting to the large membership of the unions, whose concerns are not only with future working conditions but also the long-term educational and social effects of the project.

Let us hope that we can progress from this point in a spirit of openness and co-operation which can only be beneficial to future consultations.

Yours etc

Irene Sinclair/Eric Foley
