Wessex DA CTC50 miles in 4 hours

15 from 17 entries started off at 10am on 29th February 2004 from St Michaels Church Hall, Hamworthy (GR: SY 9830 9110) for a pleasant ride on a crisp balmy day which saw us rise to the still snow white ridges of one of Dorset's high spots near Ashmore. The weather was kind to us. A moderate breeze was at us from just ahead of starboard on the way out which strengthened in places against us on the return. With it came a cold front of which some of us caught the edge whilst most just saw the rain fall in a distant shower.

14 finished the event with one turning for home. One chap lost his way close to the finish which put him just at the limits of time allowed. Our thanks to Jack & Dot for doing the refreshments at the end, much appreciated.

Congratulations to the finishers:

John Barnaby, Stephen Gould,
Andrew Hill, Mike Henderson,
Charles Hunt, Alan Linge,
Frank Moorhouse, Graham Phillips,
Shawn Shaw, Kevin Smale,
Graham Starmer, Darrell Stocks,
and on Tandem
Annemarie Manley & Nigel Winter.
