Eight noble spirits entered and two remained spirits as six set off at 8am into an overcast grey Dorset day. The wind was kind and showed its presence by a gentle nudge through the lanes from Puddletown on. There were places where riders entered the low cloud as it clung to the ridge line especially around the head of the Piddle Valley at Buckland Newton but other than that surface water was the worst of things.
