Biography
Andrew Payne was born in Bedford, England in 1952. After completing a postgraduate course at the Slade School
of Fine Art in London, he eventually returned to live in his home town of Bedford.
He has been pursuing an
ongoing photographic study of the water in the landscape around Bedford
since 1983, but from 1997 has concentrated in particular on photographing
the surface of the River Ouse which runs through the town.
His
work is found in both public and private collections in the U.K.
His most recent project was a commission for artworks for the new
office building of the international information
and media company McGraw-Hill, at Canary Wharf in London.
