- Motions of AGM - February 1, 2001:
- That Unison South Tyneside Health Branch organises a Unison member’s Christmas
party.
- Following our motion to Health Conference that the union should
facilitate joint forums, joint conferences and local discussion groups to
discuss the whole question of safeguarding the future of the NHS, the AGM
proposes that the branch organises for such events this year the aim of
which to raise the level of discussion on these questions in a year when
we are facing transition to PCTs, the further prospect of PFI, NHS
concordat with the private sector and so on.
- Recognising that we have supported the Dudley actions against the PFI in
Dudley which will result in the loss of 70 beds and the transferr of 600
staff to the private sector and also our own opposition to any
introduction of PFI. Also, to mention our delegation that attended on
January 27, 2001 the 100th day of action demonstration in
Dudley. We would like to invite a delegation from the strikers to attend
an appropriate event that we organise in South Tyneside.
- That the Branch Committee undertake to bring up to date the Branch aims
and rules to reflect best practice. That this draft be presented by the
next AGM or if before at a Branch General Meeting where prior notice has
been given.
