HELP AND ADVICE

    If you are having a problem at work, the first thing you need to do is :-

  • Talk to your manager, let them know the problem and give them a chance to sort it out.       
  • If that doesn't work,

  • Write a brief letter to your manager - saying what happened and when, or what didn't happen and should have. (Click here for a letter template to use). Remember to keep a copy for your records.
    If this doesn't work,
  • contact your UNISON Steward/Rep.They will listen to your problem in confidence (they may make some notes to make absolutely certain they have understood what has happened). They will then advise you of what choices you have.
     
  • In cases of bullying or harassment, it could be your manager who is the problem. If so, you may want to contact your UNISON Steward or Rep either before, or instead of, speaking or writing to the manager.

    Don't despair, we will be glad to help and/or advise.
     
    We will not push you in a particular direction and we will be honest with the choices open to you.
