Young Members Meeting

This is your chance to come along and meet with other like minded young people and find out what's going on around the region in their workplaces etc.  We will be giving you further information about forthcoming events, such as the German Exchange, Glastonbury and future meetings of Young Members in UNISON.

Don't miss your chance to decide what you, as a UNISON member, wants from your union and from the Young Members Group themselves and how we can encourage even more Young Members to get involved in that process.

The meetings are very informal and you only have to join in if you want to.  Feel free to just come along and observe - you may even feel the urge to join in after all!!

National Young Members Conference

Many thanks to Steve Cook, Phil Cook and Andrew Lyons who have agreed to represent the region at National Conference.  We will be hearing what happened there at our May meeting.

TUC German Exchange

We had a great response from Young Members wishing to go on the TUC German Exchange, and after putting all the names in a hat, chose three lucky members to attend.  They are:

Steve Cook - South Somerset DC, Lucy Knowles - Mendip DC and Raina Sheppard Mendip DC.

We know from past experiences that Steve, Lucy and Raina will have an interesting and enjoyable time on the exchange.  Come along to our meeting to hear about further exchange possibilities.

Glastonbury

Again, we had a brilliant response to our request for members to help us 'spread the word' and pull pints at Glastonbury.  The list is getting longer by the day, so be sure to put your name forward if you would like to be considered.

Due to the huge response we are going to have to put names into the hat again - so be sure to put your name in to be included in the draw.  We will be letting the lucky members know if they've been accepted at the next meeting - don't miss it!
