Dragon Boat Racing as an Olympic event.

The International Dragon Boat Federation has been lobbying the Olympic authorities to have the sport of Dragon Boat Racing included as an Olympic event.
With China hosting the 2008 Olympics, there could never be a better chance for our sporting community to secure recognition of our sport as a new Olympic event. Please take time to sign the online petition.

In related news; The IDBF Council have agreed to join WADA, thus adopting the Anti Doping Policies of the World Anti Doping Agency. This will bring the sport into line with IOC requirements for Olympic Sports.
Part of the WADA requirement is that out of competition drug testing takes place at international level. The target year for the first tests is 2005, subject to the initial discussions with the WADA.
