Juniors Dragons 6 - 7 Hurricanes

The defence stayed at home on Saturday, or at least they arrived late. Andy Harper scored the opening goal after just 10 seconds, Ruairidh Mackenzie joined in before the end of the first minute and by the end of the first 4 minute period he had scored the Hurricanes third, while Jared Deeney had scored twice for the Dragons.

The second period opened in the same fashion though from an unlikely source, Jared Deeney scrambled the puck away from the Dragons goal and Chloe Garrick cleared to halfway, Christopher Storey covering at centre hit a perfect slapshot through the mass of players into the top of the net. Ruairidh Mackenzie added his third to give the Hurricanes a 5 - 2 halftime lead.

The second half was no less frantic as Jared and Magnus Laurenson added a goal each to reduce the gap to one. Ruairidh replied quickly, finishing off a centring pass which Emily Garrick managed despite being sprawled on the floor. Andy Harper scored the Hurricanes seventh and despite two late goals from Jared this was enough to give them the victory .

Peewees Dragons 6 - 2 Hurricanes

The Peewee game took longer to get going, John McDiarmid opened the Dragons scoring in the first period then assisted as Kieran Smith added a second . Scott Lawson grabbed the Hurricanes first just before the end of the period only for John to restore the Dragons two goal lead at the end of the half.

James Nicolson broke away from the Dragons defence to register his first goal, cleverly delaying his shot until the goalkeeper was comited then lifting the puck high into the net.

Any hope of a Hurricane resurgence came to an end as John McDiarmid assisted on a Kieran Smith goal and then reversed roles to tap in a Kieran Smith pass. Kieran wrapped things up in the final seconds to give the Dragons a 6 - 2 win.
