Despite the sick bugs there were still 19 players at Sandwick for a Pee Wee and a Junior match.
For the Pee Wee's Danny's Devils took on Magnus's Monsters in an end to end game. The John's, McDiarmid and McNeill, joined Magnus Johnson in the Monsters attacking line and found good space wide on both sides however Danny Mullay, Stuart Sineath and Mhairi McNeill put the moves they had worked on in defensive practice to good effect, denying the Monsters any space in front of goal.
At the other end Donovan Yianni and Alex Watt provided the Monsters with a solid defensive wall of their own and despite some hard work from the Devils forwards the final result was 0 - 0.
In the Juniors game The Raiders started at a gallop, Ruairidh Mackenzie intercepting a Cruisers pass and out sprinting the defenders from halfway to score. The second period was scoreless but only due to some fine defending from the Cruisers as first Ruairidh then Emily Garrick went close.
The teams swapped ends for the third period and the change seemed to suit the Cruisers. Magnus Laurenson levelled the score with a solo effort from deep in his own half. The final period opened with Magnus clipping the post off a Kieran Smith pass. Kieran then scored his first goal for a number of weeks off an inch perfect centring pass from Joe O'Connor. In the dying seconds of the game the Cruisers put the Raiders under more pressure, two attackers in front of goal and passes coming in from both wings, eventually after a scramble in the crease the ball spilled out to Magnus who scored his second and the Cruisers third to win the match 3 - 1.
MVP. Magnus Laurenson.
