Shetland Dragons Meetings

The 2001- 2002 AGM took place at the Clickimin Centre after the All Star Game

Medals were awarded for the annual competition winners and it was decided that these should continue. Guy Smith also undertook to try and run a competition which would allow defence players to show their relative merit.

The clubs finances were discussed and it was decided that no specific fund raising was necessary for the immediate club plans. Guy Smith expressed his concern regarding the transport of equipment and agreed to look into the price and possible funding for a trailer.

The club trip which had been vaguely planned for October 2002 was discussed. Guy Smith said that October would pose problems for two reasons, firstly the venue which he had been investigating (Blackpool) had closed down and he had yet to make contact with other groups / areas. He promised to do this as soon as possible. The second problem was the new ferry company which starts services in October, no group has yet tried to negotiate trasvel deals with Northlink and Guy said he would rather wait until another group had broken the trail. An alternative date was discussed and members said that they would report back with suitable dates and those dates which shoulod be avoided (exams!). If a trip is to be undertaken then some fundraising will be necessary.

Club shirts were discussed and it was agreed that the black / blue / red colourway was the preferred option. Guy will progress this in time for next season.

Preferred times for coaching were discussed and whilst it was agreed that Saturday lunchtime was inconvenient for some members wishing to do weekend jobs it was broadly accepted as the best option. Guy said that he would investigate sessions for weekday evenings, probably Thursday.
