YOUNG MEMBERS WEEKEND – Assertiveness and Dealing
with Bullying in the Workplace
UNISON is holding a
young members training weekend from the 30th
January until 1st February in Eastbourne. The course will take place from Friday
evening until Sunday lunchtime.
The weekend should be
friendly and fun. There is an
opportunity to meet other young trade union members in an informal and relaxed
atmosphere.
On the course we will
be looking at Assertiveness and how to deal with bullying in the
workplace. The course will enable you
to increase your confidence and will provide you with some techniques for
getting your voice heard.
The course is
intended for any member of UNISON under 30.
The course is suitable for a wide range of people from experienced
UNISON stewards to UNISON members who have never been involved in UNISON before.
The residential
course costs £140 which your Branch is responsible for paying. This includes all meals and tea and coffee
breaks. Your UNISON Branch should also
pay for your travel costs. Either your
Branch Secretary or your Branch Education Officer should sign your form.
You apply for the
course by completing the enclosed application form. Please note that the closing date for applications for the course
is the 2nd January 2004. I would however advise you to get your
applications in before Christmas to allow for any postal delays. You will receive your joining instructions
for the course two weeks before the course takes place.
