2. MATTERS ARISING
2.1 There were no matters arising
3. CROMBIE CUP COMPETITION REPORT
3.1 Malcolm Campbell reported that the Senior Crombie Cup competition had again not taken place. The North East Badminton Group were still considering the possibility of resurrecting it as a club cup competition. The Activ 8 Junior Crombie Badminton League, however, had had another successful season. The winners of Division One and the Junior Crombie Trophy were Westhill Academy (1). The winners of Division Two were Cults Academy (2).
4. 2002 LEAGUE CLUB DOUBLES TOURNAMENT REPORT
4.1 This was again played on one day at the Shell Pecten Club. The numbers taking part in the tournament were slightly up on previous years with 22 couples taking part. The tournament continued to make a minor loss, despite the higher entry fees. It was agreed that a tournament should be organised for the coming season, with the entry fee remaining the same. Malcolm Campbell indicated that the tournament would be organised for early February 2003.
5. INCOME AND EXPENDITURE ACCOUNT FOR SEASON 2002-2003
5.1 This was approved by Paul Wilson of Fetteresso Badminton Club and seconded by Rob Wheadon of Cults CC Badminton Club.
6. ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION
6.1 It was agreed that the entry fees remain at £7 per team.
7. ELECTION OF OFFICE BEARERS
7.1 The following people were elected to serve on the Committee.
Chairman: Alan Nicoll
Secretary: Malcolm Campbell
Assistant Secretary: Robin Ripley
Committee Members: Martin Stuart, Shona Gatt, Colin Anderson, Mike Kinghorn,
7.2 Alan Nicoll indicated that his preference was to stand down from the committee this season. He considered that the post of Chairman required someone with more time to help promote badminton and the leagues in the North East. There followed a wide-ranging discussion on the future development of badminton and the involvement of more juniors in the leagues. It was agreed that Alan would act as Interim Chairman until a replacement could be found. (NB: Robin Ripley, the Assistant Secretary agreed later in the season to become Chairman).
8. APPLICATION BY DEVERON BADMINTON CLUB, BANFF TO JOIN THE LEAGUE
8.1 Deveron Badminton Club gave a presentation on why they wished to join the League. Their club had been in existence for 16-17 years and they played twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They play at Banff Academy and have 7 courts. Their membership was 30+ and consisted of approximately half males and half females. Their junior section comprised of more than 40 members and the juniors currently play in the Activ 8 Junior Crombie Badminton League. The senior members currently play in a friendly league but many of the players would like to play in a league, which is more competitive. Banff is just over one hour by car from Aberdeen. Deveron would initially wish to enter a one mixed team to begin with.
8.2 There followed some discussion on Deveron's application. Some clubs expressed concern about the distance they would be required to travel to play matches. It was pointed out that they would only require to travel once to Banff and clubs at the moment were involved in making quite long trips (e.g., Stonehaven to Fraserburgh). The meeting agreed that Deveron be admitted to the League.
9. PROVISIONAL DIVISION OF THE LEAGUES
9.1 The Committee was given discretion to divide up the divisions and leagues as appropriate. It was agreed that there should be two ladies divisions, playing matches home and away.
10. PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES
10.1 The league trophies were presented to the previous season's winning teams:
| Division | Mixed | Gents | Ladies |
| One | Fetteresso | Gordonians | CAS |
| Two | Westhill | Summerhill | |
| Three | University | University | |
| Four | Banchory |
11. AOCB
11.1 The meeting were informed that the scoring system for League matches and the League Tournament would remain the same as previous years. Badminton Scotland are to stick with the status quo on this issue, despite pressure for change from some members of the International Badminton Federation.
